Removing Molex / JYK pins from the tape reel
The pins for the Molex / JYK connector shells are supplied on metal tape in reels and they can be a bit fiddly to remove. I'll show you a really simple way of doing this, and the waste metal tape can be reused as well.
The above three pictures show exactly what to do I think, so little explanation is really required. A pair of end-cutters are perfect for this job and you can usually cut two or three pins at a time.
The trick is to position the cutters at the base of the pins; there is a raised part on the pin that is designed to be folded and crimped over the cable insulation, and this makes a perfect "stop" for the cutters.

Just work your way along the tape, cutting off the pins. If the tape starts to get too long and in the way, just cut it and start again.
The waste tape is actually usefull for making PCB power-bus rails as it's made from the same material as the crimp pin and great for soldering.
