Fitting Molex type connectors on breadboards

Picture
Unfortunately, standard Molex connectors won’t properly plug in to a breadboard. Whilst the pitch of the 0.1” connectors is correct, the pins aren’t long enough. You can force the pins back down a little but you then run the risk that the top part won’t be long enough to mate correctly with the socket. A much better solution is to buy a few of the 90 degree bent pin versions. These bent pins are slightly longer than the straight pin versions, and using a pair of pliers you can carefully bend the pins straight. Be careful though, you can only do this the once. If you try and bend the pins a second time they will snap off.
