Welcome to my Hobby Electronics site.
Over time I'll list some of the projects that I've created for you to experiment with - enjoy.

Due to Weebly (the site hosts) being rather ambitious with their new prices - like anybody can afford a 250% increase right now) this site will be relocating soon... expect some down time as I start to move things around as and when I can.

Work In Progress & Ongoing Projects

Picture
Like all mad scientists, I've got more projects on the go or sitting on the "back burner" than the mind can comfortably handle. Some of these projects are waiting for inspiration to strike, parts, funding, or just the enthusiasm to get on with them and the more interesting ones IMHO will be listed in this section. I'll release technical details for these projects as I go along but it goes without saying that you construct, build and ticker with any of my ideas and designs at your own risk, but projects in this section really are experimental and so carry an additional risk of either not working as expected, or never being completed.

The main projects within this area are:
Tic-Tac-Toe - Building an electronic version of this game using just jelly bean type TTL and other discrete components.
Acorn System 1 replica build

Construction Projects

In this section you will find compete construction details for projects. With some projects I’ve gone into more detail that others, and these I’ve flagged as suitable for beginners. These beginner projects will usually contain a complete parts list, where to source the parts from (and part number if possible), and complete construction details. Any special tools or other requirements will also be mentioned.
The remaining projects are less detailed and in some cases, may be just a collection of ideas or concepts; it’s up to you the reader to decide how best to make use of these.

Breadboard carriers

Picture
This section contains details of carrier PCB’s and modules I’ve construction to allow greater flexibility when using standard 0.1” breadboards. These modern breadboards are a great invention for the hobbyist and professional alike, but many components (including all SMD ones), most switches and connectors just wont plug into a standard breadboard.

Breadboard projects

Picture
In here I will offer designs and projects that can be built on breadboards. For each project you will find parts  lists, circuit diagrams and everything else needed to construct the projects. For some there will also be details on how to move the design to a more permanent home on either strip board or a PCB.

In here I will review tools, equipment and in fact anything that’s related to Hobby Electronics that I think may be of interest to others.

The views expressed here, are of course my own, and a result of my own findings.

Articles and help

Picture
In this last section is everything that dosn't fit into the above four. You will find information on technical ideas and snippets of information that I’ve picked up over time, reference tables and charts etc.

If nothing else, this is an area where I can document these technical tit-bits so I can find them again; you would understand if you saw the state of my workshop and the paper and books all over the place.

There's also a page for PICs and PIC programming.

I'm going to start uploading details of software projects that people may find interesting. I've got a couple that are in-progress right now and these should be here soon.
